Characteristic:
Indigo dye is a dark blue crystalline powder that sublimes at 390–392 °C (734–738 °F). It is insoluble in water, alcohol, or ether, but soluble in DMSO, chloroform, nitrobenzene, and concentrated sulfuric acid. The chemical formula of indigo is C16H10N2O2.
Usage:
The primary use for indigo is as a dye for cotton yarn, mainly used in the production of denim cloth suitable for blue jeans; on average, a pair of blue jeans requires just 3 grams (0.11 oz) to 12 grams (0.42 oz) of dye.
Smaller quantities are used in the dyeing of wool and silk. It is most commonly associated with the production of denim cloth and blue jeans, where its properties allow for effects such as stone washing and acid washing to be applied quickly.
Package:
20kg cartons (or by customer`s requirement): 9mt (no pallet) in 20’GP container; 18tons (with pallet) in 40’HQ container
25kgs bag (or by customer`s requirement): 12mt in 20’GP container; 25mt in 40’HQ container
500-550kgs bag (or by customer`s requirement): 20-22mt in 40’HQ container
Transportation:
It is strictly prohibited to mix and transport with oxidants, edible chemicals, etc.
During transportation, it should be protected from sun exposure, rain and high temperature.
When stopping over, stay away from fire, heat sources, and high-temperature areas.
Storage:
- Must be stored in a cool, ventilated and dry warehouse. Keep sealed during the rainy season. The temperature is controlled below 25 degrees Celsius, and the relative humidity is controlled below 75%.
- The packaging must be completely sealed to avoid deterioration due to moisture. Indigo should not be exposed to sunlight or air for a long time, or it will be oxidized and deteriorated.
- It must be stored in isolation from acids, alkali, strong oxidants (such as potassium nitrate, ammonium nitrate, etc.), reducing agents and others to prevent deterioration or combustion.
Validity:
Two years.
